Vistalinda Farmhouse & Cabins offers a unique accommodation experience in the village of Faja dos Vimes, Sao Jorge island, Azores. The traditional Azorean dwellings (ca 17th-18th century) constructed from volcanic rock have been completely remodelled and offer a a high level of comfort and all modern conveniences. The two-bedroom farmhouse can accommodate up to six guests, while the two cabins can
accommodate up to two guests each. Set amongst extensive gardens overlooking the village of Faja dos Vimes, the grounds of Vistalinda include a coffee plantation, banana plantation, vineyard, fruit trees (including mango, avocado, citrus, pomegranate and custard apple), and ornamental gardens. The property has a breathtaking 180-degree view of the village, the Atlantic ocean and Pico Island with its volcano dominating the skyline. To the north of the property are the dramatic forest covered mountains of Serra do Topo. To the east of the property is terraced marshland unique to the area where ‘inhames’ (taro) were traditionally harvested by locals. To the west of the property is a small river with waterfall which flows year-round. A traditional cobblestone ox-cart track (now pedestrian only) passes through the property and to the village and coast below. The property is located at the intersection of three linear hiking trails: Faja dos Vimes-Fragueira-Portal; Faja dos Vimes-Serra do Topo-Faja Caldeira do Santo Cristo-Faja dos Cubres; Faja dos Vimes-Lourais-Faja Sao Joao.
