10 years of memories, warm welcomes and life by the sea. 🌊

We’re giving By the Sea a little extra care, with renovations inside and out as we prepare for our next chapter.

Work is taking place in stages to minimise disruption, and we apologise for any inconvenience along the way. Thank you for your patience, understanding and for being part of our story.

If you have any questions during your stay, our reception and management team are always here to help. 🤍

Five perfect stays. Five wonderful stories. One unforgettable seaside escape. 🌊✨- By the Sea

10 years By the Sea. 🌊🤍

For the past decade, By the Sea has been proudly rooted in the heart of Nazaré — a place that is not only our home, but an important part of our family’s story.

What began with one building in Praça Sousa Oliveira has grown into two, welcoming guests from around the world just steps from the ocean. And now, our story is growing once again.

Coming in 2027: our third By the Sea building, just a few doors down.

Through every chapter, one thing has remained the same: we are family owned, locally rooted, and committed to continuing the heritage and hospitality that have shaped By the Sea for the last 10 years.

To every guest who has stayed with us, returned year after year, recommended us, supported us, and become part of our story — thank you. We are incredibly grateful for these first 10 years and so excited for what comes next.

Here’s to the next chapter, right here by the sea. 🌊

With love and gratitude,
Nicole, Melissa & Vanessa 🤍

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Some reviews stay with us long after our guests have checked out.

“We only had one day at this hotel and I wish we booked more...”

Thank you, Lori, for your kind words. Creating a place where every guest feels welcomed, relaxed, and at home is exactly why we do what we do.
Whether you’re here for a seaside escape, a romantic getaway, or simply to wake up to the sound of the ocean, we’re here to make every moment unforgettable.

We can’t wait to welcome you to By the Sea. 🌊💙

✨ Meet Patricia ✨

Today we’re celebrating Patricia, a true pillar of By The Sea and Nata Café Lisboa here in Nazaré:🤍

Our Chief of Staff for both businesses, Patricia’s loyalty, positivity, and tireless work ethic have shaped our journey for years. She leads with kindness and calm, and our guests never stop praising how welcoming and helpful she is.
Thank you, Patricia, for everything you do and for being such an essential part of our team 🌊✨

This is what Patricia had to say about what she loves most about By The Sea and Nazaré:

“Hello! I’ve been at By The Sea since 2019.

My favourite part of the job is being able to show our guests the incredible surprise that awaits them when they walk into our space — because you truly shouldn’t judge a book by its cover, and By The Sea is a perfect example of that.
Nazaré is simply unique — for its geography, its traditions, and above all, for its people 🫶🏻🌊 “
