A Sunday lunch, shared with family, good conversations, and flavors that bring people together. 🍷✨

Yesterday at Trusko Resort, we had the pleasure of hosting a special family gathering where every course was carefully paired to create a memorable culinary journey.

The experience began with a delicate Duck Liver Terrine served on traditional Somodi sweet bread, accompanied by the elegant bubbles of Carassia Sparkling Wine — a pairing that set the perfect tone for a relaxed afternoon.

For the main course, guests enjoyed our Beef Tenderloin Steak, complemented by a velvety celeriac sauce and a rich coffee reduction. To elevate the flavors, we selected wines from the renowned Balla Géza Winery, whose character and complexity beautifully matched the dish.

And because every family meal deserves a sweet finale, we served a traditional Vargabéles, finished with a peach and sour cream sauce — a dessert that felt both nostalgic and refined.

There is something timeless about gathering around a table, sharing stories, raising a glass, and enjoying food prepared with care. Moments like these remind us that hospitality is not only about serving meals, but about creating memories that linger long after the last bite.

A Scenic Road Trip Through the Apuseni Mountains

One of the greatest advantages of staying at Trusko Resort is that some of Transylvania's most spectacular roads and hidden treasures begin right at our doorstep.

This week, we set off on a circular journey through the heart of the Apuseni Mountains, starting from Trusko and following the breathtaking Transapuseana, one of Romania's most scenic mountain roads. Winding through forests, mountain ridges, traditional villages, and panoramic viewpoints, every kilometer feels like a destination in itself.

Our route continued towards Abrud, a historic mining town surrounded by some of the most fascinating landscapes in the region. From here, visitors can easily reach Roșia Montană, home to some of the best-preserved Roman gold mines in the world. Walking through tunnels carved nearly 2,000 years ago is a remarkable journey into the origins of European mining history.

On our way back, we followed the beautiful Arieș Valley, where mountain rivers, dense forests, and traditional villages create an unforgettable drive. One of our favorite stops was the hidden Șipote Waterfall, a peaceful natural wonder tucked away among the trees, where crystal-clear water cascades over limestone formations.

The entire route covers approximately 185 kilometers and can comfortably be explored in a day, making it a perfect adventure for guests looking to discover the authentic beauty of the Apuseni Mountains beyond the usual tourist paths.

At Trusko Resort, the experience doesn't stop at the resort gates. Some of Romania's most spectacular landscapes, roads, and stories are waiting just around the next mountain bend.
