Sometimes people ask us where to experience Sámi culture. Our answer is: not in one single place, but through people, homes, stories, food and through the seasons.
Sámi culture lives in families, landscapes, traditions, memories and in the rhythm of the eight seasons ❄️🌿☀️🍂
Around us, in northern Sweden, many small-scale Sámi businesses welcome guests in their own personal way. Through reindeer, nature, food, craft, storytelling or family traditions.
At Huuva Hideaway, we share our culture in the way that feels most natural to us,
around the table, by the fire in our home in Liehittäjä.
Through family memories, handmade traditions and recipes shaped by generations before us — and by the people keeping them alive today.
For us, Sámi food is deeply connected to nature: herbs, berries, fish, reindeer, wild game and the seasons around us. Sustainability has never been a trend here, it has always been part of life 🌱
