The Ubin is an island interspersed with low lying mangroves and has an area of 1020 hectares, located at the north-eastern corner of mainland Singapore, and it is in a rough sharp of a boomerang. Because of the building of bunds for prawn farming, those tidal rivers have connected all smaller islands into a single island known as The Ubin
