🏆 Finalist Spotlight 1/16
YMCA Vision 2030 Pillar: Community Wellbeing

From Metropolitan YMCA of Singapore ( Singapore), this finalist is transforming inclusion by creating meaningful opportunities for young people and persons with disabilities through an innovative network of social enterprises.

Rather than seeing people as recipients of charity, the initiative empowers them to become active contributors to their communities through an urban farm, café, restaurant and mini-mart; creating pathways to employment, independence and belonging.

Impact:
• The urban farm has expanded from 1 to 30 growing racks since 2022.
• 11 persons with disabilities are now employed across the farm, hotel and restaurant.
• More than 129 people have benefited from the programme, with participants reporting greater confidence, mental wellbeing and a stronger sense of purpose.

This project demonstrates how inclusive communities are built when everyone has the opportunity to participate, contribute and thrive.

Forging Forward!

Less paperwork, more teaching magic. ✨

On 2 June 2026, 13 educators from M.Y World Preschool attended The AI-Empowered Educator, a 4-hour workshop designed to help preschool teachers use Generative AI effectively while keeping the human touch at the heart of teaching.

Through the R-O-S-E prompting framework and the 80/20 principle, educators learnt how AI can support lesson planning, content creation, and administrative tasks while ensuring all outputs remain age-appropriate, meaningful, and tailored to children's needs. The workshop also covered responsible AI use, including PDPA and ECDA data privacy considerations.

By the end of the session, all participants felt more confident in using AI as a teaching assistant to save time, spark creativity, and create more personalised learning experiences for their children.
