Príbeh značky Hilton je nesmierne zaujímavý. Nezačal sa v New Yorku ani v Las Vegas, ale v malom mestečku Cisco v Texase.

Po návrate z prvej svetovej vojny prišiel Conrad Hilton v roku 1919 do Cisco s cieľom kúpiť banku. Obchod však na poslednú chvíľu nevyšiel. Keď si hľadal miesto na prespanie, zaujal ho miestny 40-izbový Mobley Hotel. V čase ropného boomu bol neustále plný a izby sa prenajímali dokonca na 8-hodinové zmeny, aby sa v nich mohli striedať robotníci z ropných polí.

Conrad Hilton v tom videl obrovský potenciál. Namiesto banky kúpil hotel za 40 000 dolárov a práve toto rozhodnutie navždy zmenilo históriu hotelierstva. Mobley Hotel sa stal jeho prvým hotelom a základom budúcej siete Hilton.

Tak sa z jedného malého hotela v Texase zrodila značka, ktorú dnes poznajú milióny hostí po celom svete. 🌍

💡 Niekedy stačí jedna nečakaná zmena plánov a vznikne príbeh, ktorý pretrvá celé generácie.

The story of Hilton is truly fascinating. It did not begin in New York or Las Vegas, but in the small town of Cisco, Texas.

After returning from World War I, Conrad Hilton arrived in Cisco in 1919 with the intention of buying a bank. However, the deal fell through at the last minute. While looking for a place to stay, he became intrigued by the local 40-room Mobley Hotel. During the Texas oil boom, the hotel was constantly full, and rooms were even rented in 8-hour shifts to accommodate oil field workers.

Conrad Hilton saw enormous potential in the business. Instead of buying a bank, he purchased the hotel for $40,000, a decision that would change the history of hospitality forever. The Mobley Hotel became his very first hotel and the foundation of what would later become the Hilton brand.

From that single small hotel in Texas grew a company that is now recognized by millions of guests around the world. 🌍

Včera ste pomohli zachrániť desiatky životov❤️

Na mobilnom odbere krvi v spolupráci s Národnou transfúznou službou SR sa nám včera registrovalo 37 ľudí a krv darovalo 29 darcov!!!

Každý jeden odber môže zachrániť až tri ľudské životy. To znamená, že vďaka vám dostali nádej na život desiatky pacientov.

Ďakujeme všetkým, ktorí prišli, darovali, podporili alebo šírili informáciu.
Ďakujeme našim kolegom, ktorí sa zapojili ako dobrovoľníci aj darcovia.
A ďakujeme NTS SR za profesionálnu spoluprácu. ❤️

During our mobile blood donation event in cooperation with the National Transfusion Service of Slovakia, 37 people registered and 29 donors successfully gave blood!

Each donation can save up to three lives. That means your support brought hope to dozens of patients who truly need it.

Hotel DoubleTree by Hilton Bratislava je to priestor pre kultúru, stretnutia a inšpiratívne príbehy. Sme hrdí, že sme mohli hostiť vernisáž S nádejou VII. výtvarníka Miloša Ráca pri príležitosti 27. výročia ACEC.

Umenie opäť ukázalo svoju silu prepájať ľudí naprieč prostrediami a vytvárať priestor pre dialóg, dôstojnosť a spoluprácu.

Miloš Rác, autor sochy ocenenia Roma Spirit, predstavil svoju tvorbu plnú farieb, emócií a symboliky. Jeho diela sú už roky súčasťou príbehu ľudí, ktorí menia Slovensko k lepšiemu.

Sme hrdým partnerom projektu Roma Spirit a teší nás, že môžeme podporovať iniciatívy, ktoré prinášajú kultúru, nádej a pozitívnu spoločenskú zmenu.

Výstava S nádejou VII. je prístupná verejnosti do 31. augusta 2026 v priestoroch nášho hotela.

Once again, art showed its power to connect people across different environments and to create space for dialogue, dignity, and collaboration.

Miloš Rác, the author of the Roma Spirit award sculpture, presented his work full of color, emotion, and symbolism. His creations have long been part of the story of people who are changing Slovakia for the better.

We are a proud partner of the Roma Spirit project and are delighted to support initiatives that bring culture, hope, and positive social change.

The With Hope VII exhibition is open to the public until 31 August 2026 in our hotel.
