A hidden gem in a stunning natural setting. The property sits on expansive grounds with gardens and beautiful views, and our room felt more like a private suite than a hotel stay.

What made it special was the people. Nak (the owner’s son) is an exceptional host — passionate, generous, and deeply connected to the area (and his motorbike tours are worth considering). And Auntie’s Northern Thai dinner? Easily the standout meal of our entire trip — authentic, generous, and cooked with real heart. An off-menu special designed for the best produce available on the day!

✈️🛌 United Airlines has launched United Relax Row, a new service that transforms three adjacent economy class seats into a private, comfortable bed.

Passengers who book this service can adjust the legroom, allowing them to sit, recline, or stretch out completely.

A complete bedding set is included, consisting of a soft mattress protector, blanket, and two pillows. A complimentary gift is also included for families traveling together.

United Relax Row will be available in 2027 on over 200 Boeing 787 and Boeing 777 aircraft.

I didn’t stay here but I am sure it is a truly amazing place and here is why: I arrived at Chiang Khong after a long 13 hour bus ride from Bangkok with the intention to cross the border to Laos. It is 6am and there are no tourists around where the bus left me and had no idea where to go next, I came to this hotel as it was the closest one and a young guy in the reception (who by the way speaks perfect english which is quite rare in Tai people) offered me the best help possible, he kindly explained to me everything and even called a tuk tuk to come pick me up and take me to the border. I am very very thankful for him and I can just tell you will have an amazing stay if you come to Baan Sakuna. If I ever come back to Chiang Khong and need an accomodation I will not hesitate to book here!
