Ooha-ooha-ooha-ooha from the speakers and you should know it's Bun Bang Fai (rocket festival) in the village, like in many other places across Issan. The simple life needs some cultural events like this. Rice fields should have been prepared already and the first step for a good harvest is done. Time to ask for rain, by shooting rockets in the sky. But never without a colorful parade, before the spirits will be poked tomorrow 😁

Hot, hotter, Issan...or somehow like that.🌴🌵🌞

And it got pretty wet during the past 2 weeks, means a lot of jobs have to be done. Rice fields are being prepared, late like never before...and so we will go manual this year and planting seedlings. Hope we will not regret it 🙏

The decision was influenced by the late appearance of rain here this year. And of course, when it came it took 2 days and all canals, fields and ponds here got filled.
Happy to hear from you, what's your favorite way to grow rice and why.

Meanwhile, our bunny Big Boy is having a great time, pushing the production process as good as he can 😂

And the "gang" is protecting the headquarter.

But who cares so much, when there is still an unfinished cactus garden to accomplish 😎

We needed a place to plant our Jamacaru cactuses, that's how this zero cost landscape project started. And now we get closer to the end, just when our 3 year old cactus starts to flower.

You might wonder why this guy is so crazy about his stupid cactus? Okay I tell you, it's extremely drought resistant, gets huge and it has fruits, you dont find on any market. And that's why it fits well for Bugs&Bunnies - we always do what others don't. ✌️

Last night my dog brought this little maina bird, obviously fallen off the nest, but we couldn't locate it yet. Someone here ever raised a bird like this and can give helpful advise on how to feed it?

It's quite shocked and apathic, take small bites of mashed bugs, but is not really keen to eat. I guess there is no temperature issue, but I have no clue about birds. Anyone?

Bugs&Bunnies 5 minute DIY projects 😎

Black soldier fly box

How to do it:

Find an old storage box, a couple of pipes, some cardboard, wire and tape. Tape is always good 😉
Use some soil and then your kitchen waste, as food and housing.

The long pipes inside the box, will be the exit road for the larvae, that we gonna see in some weeks. No worry about collecting then yet.
The lid is having the entrance (2) for the black soldier fly and some cardboard for the eggs. They should fall down into the organic waste and feed themselves big, as soon the time has come.

Well, job is done, and now sit and wait 😎🍻
