The Phang Nga coast has a different rhythm when you travel it by longtail.

Get closer to nature by learning to notice the birds all around you.

At the first bird watching session, binoculars up and checklists in hand, guests watched a whole world of birdlife come into focus — the longer they looked, the more birds appeared.

Nearly fifty bird species live around the resort, across the gardens, forest, and lagoon. So much life in one small stretch of coast is the clearest sign of a place in good health — thriving nature.

A few you might meet along the way:
• A pink-necked green pigeon in the gardens
• A sea-eagle over the lagoon
• Kingfishers in the mangroves
• The black-and-red broadbill — if you're lucky — a species birders travel the world to see

With Rat Punarak, a field ornithologist of twenty years, you learn to read them by shape, colour, and call, until the birds you'd usually pass reveal themselves.
