It is currently jellyfish season on Koh Tao. You may notice jellyfish washing up on the beach, which can cause an unpleasant smell as they decompose. Please exercise caution, as some of these jellyfish may be venomous.
If you are stung by a jellyfish, please follow these initial first-aid steps:
- Get out of the water immediately and remain calm.
- Do NOT use fresh water or rub the area, as this can trigger the release of more venom.
- Pour vinegar continuously over the sting area for at least 30 seconds to neutralize the venom (do not use alcohol or urine).
- Carefully remove any remaining tentacles using tweezers or a gloved hand (avoid bare skin).
- Seek medical attention immediately, especially if you experience severe pain, difficulty breathing, or allergic reactions.

ช่วงนี้เป็นช่วงฤดูแมงกะพรุนของเกาะเต่า ซึ่งอาจมีแมงกะพรุนมาเกยตื้นบริเวณชายหาดและส่งกลิ่นเหม็นเมื่อเริ่มย่อยสลาย ขอให้คุณลูกค้าโปรดระมัดระวังแมงกะพรุนที่อาจมีพิษ
หากโดนพิษแมงกะพรุน ให้ปฏิบัติตามขั้นตอนปฐมพยาบาลเบื้องต้นดังนี้:
- ขึ้นจากน้ำทันทีและตั้งสติ
- ห้ามใช้น้ำจืดล้างหรือถูบริเวณแผลเด็ดขาด เพราะจะกระตุ้นให้พิษกระจายตัว
- ราดด้วยน้ำส้มสายชู บริเวณที่โดนพิษอย่างต่อเนื่องเป็นเวลาอย่างน้อย 30 วินาที
- ค่อยๆ คีบหรือหยิบสายหนวดที่เหลือออก (ห้ามใช้มือเปล่าสัมผัส)
- รีบไปพบแพทย์ทันที โดยเฉพาะหากมีอาการหายใจลำบาก ปวดรุนแรง หรือแพ้ขั้นรุนแรง
