The Thailand flag's colors represent "Nation, Religion, Monarchy". The outer red stripes symbolize the nation and the blood shed for its freedom, the white stripes represent religion (specifically Buddhism), and the central blue stripe symbolizes the monarchy. The central blue stripe is twice as wide as the others, and this design was adopted in 1917.

One of the most beautiful hidden details of Wat Suthat is its peaceful cloister gallery, which surrounds the main vihara on all four sides.The corridor is lined with 156 gilded Buddha images, creating a calm and timeless atmosphere for visitors to walk through.
Most of the Buddha statues are shown in the meditation posture, while the four corners feature the rare Mara-Victory posture. Behind the statues, the walls are painted with delicate Mandarava flowers — heavenly blossoms believed to fall from the sky in honor of the Buddha.Just 10 min walk from Baan Debtida.

In most Thai Buddhist homes, just like at Baan Debtida, a small altar is lovingly arranged to honor the Buddha in daily life. During the Songkran Festival from April 13th to 15th, Thai Buddhists gently bring the Buddha statues down and pour fragrant water over them with great care. This graceful ritual symbolizes purification, washing away misfortune, and inviting blessings of peace, harmony, and serenity into one’s life.
