Posting about spiders as a resort owner might sound like a risky move, but hear us out—these little guys are in a league of their own! 🕷️✨

You’ve probably seen them trending on Instagram lately: tiny, 1-centimeter jumping spiders that people are actually keeping as pets. And for good reason! They are ridiculously smart, have incredible vision, can solve problems, and can even learn to recognize specific people. So much so that when they see you, they will come over to say hello just like a puppy dog.

Case in point: When working I like to sit in the garden and every time I open my laptop to get some work done, my resident office buddy shows up. Within a few minutes of sitting down, he pops onto the table, climbs up the back of the laptop screen, takes a quick peek at whatever project I’m typing away on, and jumps onto my hand for a friendly hello before wandering off.

I’ve never considered myself a "spider person," but it’s impossible not to fall for these colorful, curious little creatures.

(Full honesty time: I tried so hard to take a sharp, real photo of my tiny desk buddy, but he moves way too fast! I had to let AI touch up my blurry shot so you could see his magnificent little eyes).

Next time you spot a jumping spider, skip the initial scare, you’re looking at a surprisingly intelligent, totally harmless, and very friendly little neighbor that just wants to come and say hi! 🌿✨.
