Sometimes the best part of a vacation is doing absolutely nothing. And we happen to have a couple of pretty great spots for turning nothing into something special! 🌅

Grab a seat in one of our Adirondack chairs, sit back, and watch the sun set over Grand Traverse Bay. And when the evening air gets a little chilly, head over to our outdoor fireplace, warm up by the fire, and stay and do nothing a little longer.

🌽 Get lost at Jacob's Farm TC
Their big corn maze takes about 45–60 minutes to complete and is fun for the whole family. Pick some apples and pumpkins, let the kids play, and enjoy a meal at the family.

🍎 Celebrate Apple Days at Farm Club
Saturday 10/17 from 11-4, head to Farm Club for Apple Days and taste your way through more than 20 varieties of apples. Watch apples being turned into fresh c***r with an old-fashioned crank press, then enjoy hot c***r, apple cake and freshly milled buckwheat donuts. It’s a fun taste of harvest season in Northern Michigan.

🚠 Take a fall color road trip to Crystal Mountain
The drive is part of the fun! Head to Crystal Mountain for a scenic chairlift ride and panoramic views of Northern Michigan. Want a little more adventure? Race down the mountain on The Crystal Coaster Alpine Slide (open through 10/24).

🍷 Hunt for the Reds of October
This one is for the grown-ups! Leelanau Peninsula W**e Trail’s Hunt for the Reds of October runs throughout the month. It's a great excuse to take an epic autumn drive through w**e country. Stop at participating w**eries and try specially selected red w**es along the way.

🎃 Trick-or-Treat Downtown
Finish out the month with the Downtown Traverse City Halloween Walk on October 31 from 10–11:30 AM. Dress up the kids and head downtown, where participating businesses will be handing out treats for a fun Halloween morning.

Traverse City is about to LIGHT UP!

The International Fireworks Championship returns to Turtle Creek Stadium September 11 & 12, and if you saw it last year, you already know that this is not your average fireworks show!

Six elite pyrotechnic teams from around the world will compete over two nights, with three teams taking the stage each evening. Each team will create a spectacular fireworks display choreographed to music, all leading up to a grand finale each night.

Last year was incredible, and we can’t wait to see what they have planned for 2026!

A Northern Michigan tradition, the Northwestern Michigan Fair returns August 9–15, 2026. Tickets are $6 per day to enter the fairgrounds and you'll find all sorts of fun events for the whole family!
