The Powell Hide-Away

The Powell Hide-Away Weekend and Vacation Retreat Powell Hide-Away" was how the sign read leading to my Grandparent's cottage on the St. Joseph River east of Mishawaka, IN.

Family came there to escape the everyday pressures of life and fish, boat, cookout, play, or just sit around and visit. Years later I raised my family within a mile of that place. Wanting to experience those same things as an adult, I revisited my old campground in 2006 and a new Hide-Away was born as an Atwood Lake Seasonal. Almost 20 years later The Powell Hide-Away moved to a secluded cottage on Town Lake.
