Only a few more days left of the beautiful River of Lights held at the Albuquerque Biopark Botanic Gardens. Guests at River of Lights can walk through the ABQ BioPark Botanic Garden and experience over 800 intricately designed and constructed sculptures, light displays, and millions of twinkle lights. The annual event ends on December 30th and runs from 5-10pm every night.

Paths are ADA-accessible. Due to varying path surfaces and weather conditions, some assistance may be needed in certain areas.

Take advantage of our FREE Park & Ride located at the ABQ BioPark Zoo. Scroll down for more info!

Avoid the traffic when heading to Park & Ride. Take I-40 to 12th St. or I-25 to Lead Ave., then travel to the ABQ BioPark Zoo at 10th and Stover.

There is no need to park in the neighborhood or pay for parking at other non-River of Lights businesses. The Botanic Garden parking lot and Park & Ride at the Zoo provide plenty of parking for all guests.

The annual Twinkle Light Parade is back for another holday season tonight, December 6th at 5:15pm.

This free, family-friendly holiday event lights up a full mile of Route 66 in Nob Hill. The parade features local businesses, school and community groups, and a wide range of Albuquerque organizations—all coming together to celebrate the season, unite the community, and shine bright for everyone to enjoy.

Central Ave. will close traffic starting at 3pm giving shoppers the freedom to get holiday shopping done at a variety of local shops and eat at a variety of local restaurants in Nob Hill. Plan to arrive early, get some shopping done and grab a spot to view the Twinkle Light Parade.

Free Park and Ride:
Free parking will be available at the parking lot located at the southwest corner of Lomas Blvd and University Blvd. Buses will run from 3-10:30pm taking parade goers from the lot to UNM Johnson’s Field near Girard Blvd and Central Ave.

5pm - ABQ Girl Choir - The Albuquerque Girl Choir provides a musical experience for girls to listen to music fundamentals, receive vocal training and perform in an upbeat atmosphere
5:40pm - The Good Apples from The Manzano Day School - The Good Apple Singers from Manzano Day School (4th and 5th graders) love to meet after school to sing, move and enjoy friendship through music
6:15pm - Presentation of San Felipe De Neri Church Royal Court
6:20pm - Baila! Baila! - Baila! Baila! Dance Academy has been teaching children and adults the art of Ballet Folklorico or Traditional Mexican Folk Dance for over 27 years originally starting in 199o by two sisters Israela and Felissa Garcia with the goal of "preserving our culture through the arts"
7:15pm - Mountain View Mennonite Church - The Mountain View Mennonite choir is a diverse group of New Mexico Mennonites singing traditional Christmas carols in acapella style

The Albuquerque Museum will be open until 7pm for the Annual Old Town Holiday Stroll; The NM Museum of Natural History of Science and Explora Science Center and Children's Museum are all offering free admission and special activities until 9pm.

Streets in Throughout Old Town will be closing starting at 2:30pm until 10pm to ensure safety for all shoppers and strollers.
Free parking will be available in the Albuquerque Museum lot as well as surrounding streets.

This is a great opportunity to get out and do your Holiday shopping and support our local merchants!

Tonight, December 6th, 2024, is the annual Old Town Holiday Stroll from 5-9pm. This event is always the first Friday in December. The ABQ Girls Choir kicks off at 5pm at the Old Town Gazebo and the Plaza Don Luise features Old Fashioned Carolers at 5:30pm. The lighting of the 30' Sequoia replica tree is at 6:00pm with Stephanie Chavez and David Romero from the KRQE Morning Show and Chad Brummett and Liz Fellinger from the KRQE Noon as emcees for the ceremony.

Come enjoy a wonderful family evening. stroll Old Town, sip hot chocolate and enjoy the carolers, singers, mariachis and other entertainment throughout all the Old Town Plazas. The Albuquerque Museum of Art, the Natural History Museum and the NM Museum of Natural History of Science are all offering free admission and special activities until 9pm. This is a great opportunity to get out and do your Holiday shopping and support our local merchants!

Streets in Throughout Old Town will be closing starting at 3pm.
Parking is available at the lot on 18th St. between Mountain Rd. and Bellamah Ave. and in the Sawmill area. Free shuttles will take event goers from the Sawmill Lot and to the Albuquerque Museum lot near Old Town plaza. Looking for something to do? The 27th annual River of Lights event opens tonight at the Albuquerque Bio Park! This wonderful Albuquerque Attraction will be open from Nov. 30 - Dec. 30, 2024 (Closed Dec. 24 & 25) from 5:pm-10:00pm daily and offers a1.6-mile path of over 700 one-of-a-kind hand-welded light displays, animated and 3D sculptures, and millions of twinkling lights at New Mexico’s favorite and largest original walk-through holiday light show. The Botanic Garden parking lot at 2026 Central Avenue SW and the City of Albuquerque Park & Ride at the Albuquerque Zoo provide plenty of parking for all guests. Tickets for Friday-Sunday Adult: $19 and Youth (age 3-12): $9 Ticket costs for Monday-Thursday Adult: $15 and Youth (age 3-12): $8 with tickets. New Mexico State Fair....This weekend is the last days for this years NM State Fair! We want to encourage everybody to attend this wonderful event. the New Mexico State Fair has consistently been in the top 5 ranked fairs in the nation based on affordability, programming and weather. There are great things to do and see daily including The Great American Pig Races and the Great American Duck Races or how about the Sea Lion Splash or the Duke City Champion Wrestling? Of course, the fabulous carnival rides are always great for everyone. The evenings this weekend will be great as on Friday, the Tingley Coliseum Host Cole Swindell with the PRCA Rodeo and Saturday's entertainment is Josh Turner with the PRCA Rodeo! The weather looks great, and we hope everyone can get out and enjoy the last weekend of our great fair.

Albuquerque was named one of the Best Places to Travel to in 2023, by Money Magazine. The list also includes international destinations like Barcelona, Spain; Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam; and Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
