We reached a big milestone this week with 101 perfect 5-Star reviews on Airbnb. Anyone who hosts knows how much work goes into this from setup, managing expectations, screening guests for fit, dealing with unexpected issues, laundry (did I say laundry?), coordinating cleaning crews, taxes, etc. All of this on top of our full-time day jobs can make for some busy weeks

Unlike many corporate run short-term rentals, we treat our guests and their furry family as we would our personal friends and seek to overdeliver on our promises while making sure we don’t negatively impact our neighbors. The vast majority of the time it’s truly a pleasure to share our home and amazing neighborhood.

So excited that fall weather is FINALLY here! In celebration, thought we’d share a list of fall faves. Our personal favorite is taking the dogs to Misha’s on King St and getting some hot caramel apple cider and then walking around the neighborhood and seeing all the decorations. Also love bowls of warm pumpkin soup at Augie’s with a seasonal adult cider.

Sip local cider and spirits, enjoy art festivals and take advantage of the bounty of autumn activities.

Something our guests consistently mention in their reviews is how quiet and relaxing the location is but that it’s still walking distance to everything you could want. One of our favorite thing to walk to is Chewish Deli which is less than a block away. The folks there are always so welcoming, the coffee and hand rolled bagels are amazing. This morning we had warm cinnamon sugar bagels with homemade strawberry schmear 🙂. Warning though, the secret is out so ordering the night before is best to ensure they don’t run out of your faves!

Nothing better than walking around and seeing all the beautiful fall florals and decor all around Town while enjoying the smell of wood fireplaces burning. The weather has finally cooled and we are enjoying hot cider and everything pumpkin spice! The pups are excited to be able to do long walks during the daytime again after a hot summer.

The Christmas boat parade in Alexandria happens every year on the last day of Alexandria's Scottish Christmas Walk Parade, on the Potomac River.

Fall weather is finally here and it is such a relief! Makes the hot and humid summer almost worth it and is the perfect weather for exploring Old Town and the surrounding DMV area. Nothing like some hot apple cider by the riverfront 🙂

Hosting is so rewarding with the many wonderful guests we’ve been blessed with this year. Just had the sweetest couple and their baby here for a conference this week who were not only great guests, but got us the most thoughtful little gifts of awesome Space company swag and a beautiful pineapple tea towel…..the symbol of hospitality around Old Town that we residents are addicted to! It really is those small acts of kindness from strangers that make all the difference.
