All of us here at KPD are very proud of this young lady, Officer Kaelyn Schlies. On May 31st Officer Schlies responded to a call for a 62 year old male who collapsed and was not breathing. Officer Schlies attached her AED, which shocked the patient and also performed CPR until the patient started breathing on his own. So if you see her around give her an “atta girl”(lol, my saying), I’m sure she will appreciate it. Yesterday Chief Mueller and I presented her with a certificate, and a life saving pin she will proudly wear on her uniform.
