We continue to find the greatest aspect of running a B&B is the diversity of our guests. So for all of you watching tonight’s opening ceremonies for the Paris Olympics, we just checked in a guest whose daughter is IN these games. Her last name is Weiss (Suzy?), and she’s head of the USA women’s bicycle team! Bicycling competition is week #2, and her parents are headed to Paris this coming week. How’s them apples? Go USA!!! 🇺🇸🚴🏻

Why stay at a B&B? First, let's be clear - we are a traditional B&B, NOT an Air B&B or a VRBO. We're on-site and cook a full breakfast for our guests each morning. You're in our home with us. Your room(s) are private, of course, but this is no cookie-cutter room we're offering. They're rooms we've decorated in our home.
But the real reason to choose a B&B is, in a word, personality. We're here to greet you and help you in any way we can. Need a dinner recommendation? We know all the spots personally and can tell you all about it. Directions anywhere, we can do that. The reason WE do this is we love meeting people and sharing conversation.
The personality extends to the facility as well - no off-white, all-the-same rooms at a B&B. Each and every one is different, carefully set up for guests as if they were family. Even luxury hotels can't match that.
So don't settle for just a place to stay - get a B&B to enjoy. Come and see; you'll be a convert.

Most guests at Whisper Ridge come for the peace of our wooded, lakeside setting, or the soft lake breezes, and they wouldn’t be wrong. But what’s surprising is that in this small town (pop 5000), there’s lots to do. Fridays have music - last night we saw Asamu Johnson & the Associates of the Blues (see videos), and our riverside outdoor stage (free!) opens next week. BTW, tickets for Asamu were $10 - that’s a $50 show in Chicago or Detroit. There’s now a zipline in town, a ropes course, our art-deco movie theater. We can recommend many great restaurants. So come to relax, or explore new horizons. We got you covered!

Ok, I can’t really take credit for this, but last night guests arrived, overnight we got a dusting of snow to “pretty things up,” then a nice sunrise to show it off! Somehow Whisper Ridge never fails…

With much of the world “opening up,” we want everyone to know that we and all of Allegan are open! So get out, get away, and stay in our quiet corner of the forest just outside Allegan. Our restaurants are open, and even our outdoor music venues (free) are up and running.

Even as the sun sets earlier at this time of year, here at Whisper Ridge B&B, there still plenty of time to sit on the deck overlooking the fading colors, light up our fence lights and the chiminea and let your troubles and the sunlight fade together.

Now in our 5th year, the very best part of being B&B hosts is meeting our diverse and interesting guests. We love sharing our little bit of heaven on Lake Allegan. Our log house is sort of new (25 years), but is sprinkled with lots of history. The big saw blade over our fireplace once ran on a sawmill my grandfather used to build a log cabin resort near Spooner, WI in the 30’s. There’s lots more. Come and see.
