First I want to thank all of my Florida Friends especially my those of my Tampa Prep family that have really stepped up to help me in my move to Florida! I will be moving to Florida this week as soon as I am packed up. I am still looking for a place to live for the first 3-4 weeks I will be in Florida (I will be on the west coast Pinellas County area). I have money for rent but would really love a place where I do not have to sign a lease and it would be great to find a place that does not require a large deposit! I don't need much! I plan on spending my time working and searching for jobs so where I am staying does not mean a whole lot. Any ideas please let me know!!! Thanks and see you soon Fla!

Finally something to report from up here along the Salmon River. Although the river is by no means loaded with fish, there are some good pockets of fish from top to bottom. One guy that fished the Church hole today landed 15 fish and there were reports of good fishing in front of the mouth of the river early AM and a decent push of fish through the DSR. While Dave Phillips and I did some maintenance on the charter boat we saw some fish in the estuary below the route 3 bridge. I think the cool, rainy weather the last few days has finally triggered a start to the migration. Still a few rooms open for those of you that want a crack at these fresh fish!

to all of my Florida Friends!!! Brenda, the kids and I will be moving back to Florida in the New Year! Owning a lodge while raising two children has not worked out and we want to be near Brenda's family again it is important to us to have them in the lives of our kids. So, I am looking for a job. Teaching is my number one interest and I will be qualified to teach in public or private schools and my number two choice is in the restaurant / hotel business in anything from management to sales; I have eleven years experience owning and operating a lodge, 15 yeas experience owning and operating restaurants and endless year of experience bartending, waiting tables and managing restaurants. I am definitely looking for help/ suggestions even though I have some time I am excited to look at some opportunities! Thanks all!

First day with out on a 6 hour trip with Joe Santiago and the Jersey clan and we did not tear them up but we had a nice consistent bite and ended up landing one King Salmon and 3 Coho Salmon and having another 5 on. The guys are getting a couple smoked by Bart and we'll be right back at it on Sunday. I finally had a pretty good picture on the fish sonar with good fish marks from 55' to 95' feet down and a good amount of bait. Joe Santiago has a great fising site "Die Hard Outdoors" which if you have never checked out I recomend you do!

well the transmission is fixed and the boat is finally back in action!!! Took long time Salmon Heaven Lodge & Charter Service family members Steve Y. and his family for a 6hour charter on Saturday and had a real nice time. We did not slaughter them but each person landed a nice salmon and we lost a couple more takes which made for a nice day. They landed two king salmon and these nice coho salmon. We marked a decent number of fish and I think things are going to get much better in the near future!

Great News for anyone looking for lodging this fall on the Salmon River! Our apartment/ efficiency has just become a valuable for the following dates: September 1 - September 23, 2015; October 16 - October 22, 2015; October 25 - December 31, 2015. The apartment is the lower floor of the lodge and has it’s own entrance, there are two bedrooms, one full bathroom, a living room, dining room and large kitchen. It has a large fenced in yard (perfect for pets of any size) with a fire pit and grill. You can literally sit around the fire in the evening after a hard day fishing and tell stories while you hear the Salmon River in the background. The rate for the apartment is $40/ person/ night and there is a minimum of $80/ night.

I am excited to announce that I will be managing the Lodge full time! I will be guiding again, cleaning fish at the lodge for our customers, and smoking fish! I came to the Salmon River to run a fishing business and found myself doing less and less what I love and wanted to do.
