While there are many amazing, year round, things to see and do in the Lake Quinault area, there are also many must visit places nearby.
Beaches 1,2,3+4 are only a 25-30 min drive from the Lake Quinault Inn, north on Hwy 101.
The easiest way to access them is while heading in the southbound direction, so it is recommended to start with beach 4, and then stop at 3,2,+,1 on your way back. This will also allow you to get a feel of the location and parking as you pass by the beaches. They are all marked with signs, but do come up quickly while you are driving on the Hwy.
Beach 4 has a parking lot. There is then a smooth, slight decent, to a small bridge. The bridge crosses over to a rock that must then be climbed down. You are then rewarded with a beautiful beach that feels secluded, and is nestled in a cove.
Beach 3 parking is along the hwy, with a pullout on the west side. The trail down to the beach zig-zags down, and can feel a bit steep on the way back up. Nothing too extreme, and like all of the beaches, definitely worth the effort. After you work your way down, you find an open beach with a lot of space to spread out or explore.
Beach 2 parking is along both sides in the Hwy with pull off shoulder parking. The trail down is a short, easier path, although some navigating through driftwood may be required to get to the beach. The beach itself is a bit steeper, and a great place for Surf Perch fishing. While I was there I spent some time watching a family fish, while casting from the shore!
Beach 1 parking is similar to beach 2. There is a nature path through the woods, with many bluff overlook viewpoints. The trail down to the beach is smooth and accessible. Some driftwood was on the beach, but gaining access to the beach was fairly easy.
There are also more popular, world class, beaches in the area that you should definitely also visit. But, if you are an adventurous type, that enjoys getting off the beaten path, you will not be disappointed.
