🔥 HIDDEN MEADOWS FIRE UPDATE 🔥

We have received quite a few calls and messages regarding the Hidden Meadows Fire and wanted to provide some clarification for our members.

The fire is located in the Fargher Lake area, south of Amboy and well south of Lake Merwin Campers Hideaway. Some alerts and mapping services are showing the location as Yacolt because properties in the Fargher Lake area can carry a Yacolt mailing address. The fire itself is not located in the town of Yacolt.

Based on the current information available, the fire is approximately 8 acres and is moving generally west/southwest… away from LMCH and the Lake Merwin area.

At this time, there is no evacuation notice or immediate threat to LMCH.

We are continuing to keep an eye on the situation and will share additional information if conditions change or if there is anything our members need to know.

Please help us reduce confusion by sharing accurate information rather than relying solely on the city name shown in automated fire alerts.

Friendly Reminder: If you are planning any alterations to your site or trailer, please start by completing a Site Development Plan, available through the LMCH Office.

Once submitted, LMCH will review the proposed work and stamp the plan if we believe the project may require additional permitting through Clark County or Washington State L&I.

This applies especially to work involving electrical, plumbing, gas, framing, walls, doors, windows, structural changes, decks, covers, hookups, or other site/trailer modifications.

Please check before starting work. It is much easier to verify requirements up front than to correct unapproved or unpermitted work after the fact.

🌿 NRC W**d Pull Contest – July 12th! 🌿
Hosted by the Natural Resources Committee

Camp needs your help! We have a growing problem with Tansy Ragwort, Thistle, and Spurge Laurel, so this year the NRC W**d Pull Contest is expanding to include Spurge Laurel as well.

📅 Date: Saturday, July 12th
📍 Drop-Off Location: Front area of the Gravel Pit / Burn Pile
⏰ Time: 1pm-2:30pm
🏆 Prizes: Awarded to the top three winners who pull and bag the most weeds by weight.

Please pull and bag the entire plant, including roots and rhizomes where possible. For Spurge Laurel, please use extra caution. It is poisonous, and all plant material should be bagged and handled with gloves.

Important safety reminders:
Wear gloves, long sleeves, and eye protection when possible. Do not leave pulled weeds, flowers, berries, or plant debris on your site. Bag it and bring it to the designated drop-off area.

This is a great way to help protect our forest, improve campsites and common areas, and support the health of LMCH.
