We had the absolute pleasure of welcoming back the Gold Country Travelers to our park! It was wonderful having them here again after being away for a couple of years — they were an absolute delight to host.
This trip’s wagon masters were Bonnie and her husband, Jim, who have been part of the group since 2019. They did an amazing job organizing this trip and keeping everything running smoothly!
The Gold Country Travelers club itself has been around for an incredible 26 years, bringing together RV enthusiasts who share a love for adventure, friendship, and the open road. The group currently has 58 members, with new travelers joining each year alongside longtime participants.
Most members are from California’s Central Valley, and while they often explore destinations throughout the state, their adventures have also taken them to Oregon, Washington, and Nevada.
Each year, a new wagon master signs up in advance to plan the trips — choosing where to go, what to see, and the activities along the way. The group also holds a monthly potluck meeting to discuss upcoming travels and assign future wagon masters.
Most of their outings include at least 10 rigs and take place throughout the year. Once an itinerary is set, members can choose to join in on as many activities as they like — or simply relax at the campground until the next event. At every stop, they host one potluck and one night out, creating a perfect mix of fun, food, and friendship.
Anyone can join the Gold Country Travelers! While many members are retired couples, the group welcomes anyone who loves to travel, connect, and share in the joy of exploring new places.
