Babcock House Bed and Breakfast Inn

Babcock House Bed and Breakfast Inn Historic charm. Shared tables. Glad and generous hospitality. At Babcock House, we welcome you not just as guests — but as friends.

My husband and I own and operate a bed & breakfast in central Viriginia, specializing in farm-to-table cuisine with food from our on-site garden and local suppliers. We have two boys, one dog and several chickens, hoping to soon be raising rabbits and bees as well. I enjoy fiber arts...knitting, crochet and most recently spinning... as well as being active in our church and small community. When I

'm not hosting guests, I am busy homeschooling or helping Charles in the garden and trying to keep our house in order. Hospitality has always been a joy for me and I consider it a blessing to share with others.

A light left on. A place at the table.

Hospitality isn't just about rooms and meals.

It's about creating spaces where people can slow down, connect, and leave refreshed.

We're grateful to share moments like these every day.

Hospitality begins long before a guest arrives.

It's in the preparations no one sees, the details that communicate, "We're glad you're here."

Not because everything has to be perfect, but because people matter.

A shared table. A warm welcome. A place to rest.

That's the kind of hospitality we're always striving to offer.

Some places ask you to do more.

This is a place that invites you to do less.

Sleep a little later.
Stay on the porch a little longer.
Watch the birds, sip the coffee, linger over breakfast, and let the day unfold at its own pace.

Sometimes a getaway isn't about where you're going.

It's about how you feel when you get there.

Things to Know About Bed & Breakfasts (That Might Surprise You)

No, we don't hover over your breakfast table. 😊

Most modern B&Bs offer private bathrooms, comfortable guest rooms, and plenty of space to relax.

Breakfast is included. And yes, it's usually much better than the sad hotel muffin.

Every inn is different. Some are romantic retreats, some are historic homes, and some are perfect for a quiet getaway.

At our inn, you can be as social or as private as you'd like. Some guests enjoy lingering conversations on the porch, while others settle into a rocking chair with a good book.

A great inn is more than a place to sleep. It's part of the experience.

Many guests arrive as first-time B&B visitors and leave wondering why they waited so long to try one.

A stay here means homemade breakfasts, peaceful mornings, front porch conversations, bird songs from the garden, and the chance to slow down for a few days.

Have you ever stayed at a bed & breakfast? What surprised you most?

Tonight we started out with mushroom soup. Then we served salads with fresh blueberries and nectarines, oil and vinegar from , and house grown pecans. Entree choices were NY Strip with house made steak sauce or Salmon with lemon butter sauce, both served with asparagus and mashed turnips from our garden. Dessert was a deconstructed butter pecan ice cream with a round of ☕️ .

Our guests also enjoyed selections from our wine list and draft .

Dinner is available exclusively for our room guests most Wednesday-Sunday evenings with reservations required at least 72 hours in advance to guarantee availability.

You don't always need a reason for a getaway.

Sometimes you're celebrating something big. Sometimes you just need a change of scenery, a slower pace, and a few days that don't revolve around your calendar.

A quiet porch. Open skies. Birds singing in the morning. Evenings spent lingering outdoors as the day fades into night.

If you've been thinking about taking a break, consider this your sign.

The emails can wait. The chores will still be there when you get home.

For now, choose rest. ✨

Time for bed!

Time for bed!

Some places are made for seeing the sights. Others are made for slowing down long enough to notice them. ✨

The birds gathering at the bath. The breeze across the deck. A bright moon overhead. Twinkle lights glowing after dark. The kind of quiet moments that don't make the itinerary—but somehow become the memories.

This is what evenings look like here. 🌙

There are places that don't ask anything of you.

No schedule. No notifications. No hurry.

Just cool water moving over stones, birds overhead, and a few quiet moments to sit still and listen.

Sometimes that's enough.
