An eleven year old German Shepherd with bilateral hip dysplasia was struggling with the basics: rising slowly, shifting weight off her hips, and shortening her stride.

Her veterinarian, Erica Dunphy, DVM, CVMMP, CVA, CCRP, documented the case using objective, pressure sensing gait analysis rather than observation alone, tracking peak vertical force and stride patterns at day zero, day twenty, and day twenty nine after AlphaFlo® was incorporated into her care. By day twenty, hind limb peak vertical force had increased by roughly 41 percent, and vertical impulse by roughly 53 percent, with her owner reporting more energy and a return to toy play by day 29.

Long before he ever picked up a stethoscope, William Tadlock was showing livestock through 4H and FFA in Spring Branch, Texas. That early hands on experience with animals is what pointed him toward veterinary medicine well before he ever reached college.

He earned his bachelor's degree in Animal Science from Stephen F. Austin State University, then his veterinary degree from Lincoln Memorial University. His practice today spans surgery, reproduction, and preventative care, and he still makes time for cattle pregnancy checks whenever his schedule allows. At home, he and his wife share their place with three dogs, three horses, and a shared love of the outdoors and the agriculture that shaped his path into this field.

Two ultrasounds, two months apart, tell a very different story about tendon healing.

Our case study follows a calcanean tendon lesion in the right hind limb, showing imaging from the time of implantation through the two month recheck after AlphaFlo® was used to support the injured tissue. Tendon injuries like this one are notoriously slow to heal on their own, which is part of why veterinarians are looking at canine amniotic tissue allografts as an additional tool alongside rest, rehab, and surgical repair. This is one documented case, not a guarantee of how every tendon injury will respond, but it is a useful reference if you are managing something similar.
