With heavy hearts, we have said "See you later" to our beloved Nanny, Ann Craft Newberry.
Born into the Craft family, she married her high school sweetheart, Tommy Newberry, and raised four children of their own—Deb, Kay, Tom, and Mark.
Together, she and Papa built SOWEGA, later known as Quail Country, where Nanny was always the wind beneath Papa’s wings. Hospitality was one of her many gifts, and she poured her heart into every meal, every room, every corner of the grounds, and every guest she welcomed.
In 1982, she and Papa went into the ministry and after faithfully serving for 25 years they returned to Burning Bush and our families land. Together, they continued the Lord’s work, serving all who came to visit.
For many years, the Martha in Nanny shined brightly through her hard work and service. In her later years, we saw more of Mary—a woman who loved deeply, prayed faithfully, and cherished her family above all.
Her legacy of love, hospitality and prayer will live on in all who knew her. She was deeply loved and will be forever missed.
She passed away peacefully at her home yesterday afternoon surrounded by family and a crowd of Heavenly hosts cheering her on home. Thanks to all for prayers, love and support. Her celebration of life arrangements will be announced soon. ❤️
