There’s a new bloom in our The Workshop Lounge Lounge. 🌸

“Flowers from Ms. Cunningham’s Garden” by local artist Elizabeth Ivey Elizabeth Ivey is a stunning reflection on abundance, but also on the care it takes to create something beautiful. Inspired by a garden in Southside Asheville, the piece speaks to tending with intention, giving something the time, attention and space it needs to grow.

Labor Day weekend in Asheville is looking like a good one. ☀️🎶⛰️

Make the most of the unofficial last weekend of summer with some of Asheville’s biggest happenings:

🎨 Boomtown Arts & Heritage FestAVL takes over Pack Square Park September 4–6 with three days of FREE live music, art, storytelling and workshops.
🖼️ First Friday Art Walk kicks off the weekend Friday evening with galleries and studios throughout Downtown Avl Arts District staying open late.
⚾ Catch the Asheville Tourists at HomeTrust Park every night during their final home games of the weekend.
🎻 On Sunday night, spread out a blanket in Pack Square Park for the FREE Symphony in the Park with the Asheville Symphony .
🍎 And just down the road, the North Carolina Apple Festival fills downtown Hendersonville all weekend, culminating with the King Apple Parade on Labor Day.

In between it all? Come back to The Foundry for a cocktail, a little downtime and your home base in the heart of downtown Asheville. 🥃✨

Asheville knows how to send summer out on a high note. 🎶✨

The final Asheville Downtown Association Downtown After 5 of the season hits Pack Square Park TONIGHT, August 21, with New Orleans Night, featuring J & The Causeways , Bayou Diesel and a special appearance by the Asheville Second Line. This month’s nonprofit partner is Asheville Mardi Gras . 🎺💜💚💛

There’s a reason Asheville has long been called The Land of the Sky. ☁️⛰️

The nickname traces back to 1876, when author Frances Fisher Tiernan, writing as Christian Reid, published The Land of the Sky; or, Adventures in Mountain By-Ways, inspired by Western North Carolina’s rolling mountains, waterfalls, fragrant forests and blue ridgelines. By 1895, Southern Railway was using the phrase to invite travelers to experience the beauty of the mountains for themselves.
