Eighty years since the lifts first ran here, and the weekend of December 12 is where it lands. All four mountains open, $80 tickets, and Wintersköl in town with snow sculptures, soup in Wagner Park, a bonfire and a torchlight descent down Aspen Mountain. The month of October in Aspen Snowmass is a locals favorite. Trails you queued behind eleven people for in July are empty, and you can park anywhere. Restaurants welcome you with a smile and the stores have great deals!

Seasons Four 178 came to us this summer, caught on one of those mornings where the light does most of the work. Open kitchen into the living space, big windows, the kind of room where everyone ends up together without anyone suggesting it. Open for winter now.

We love driving the Pass in the fall. You keep telling yourself you will pull over at the next good spot and then you never do, because every corner is better than the one before it. There is nothing else like this anywhere, and we get it right here for a few more weeks!
