Over the past week, we've had the privilege of introducing two incredible leaders who are helping shape the future of our newly restructured Sales & Catering Department. Lyna Wynia & Karrah Green (wooot!)

Now, we're looking for the final piece of the puzzle. 🧩

This isn't just another management position. It's an opportunity to help lead weddings, conferences, tournaments, celebrations, and countless memorable moments that bring our Conference Center to life. From coaching an amazing team to ensuring every event is executed with excellence, this role is at the heart of creating unforgettable guest experiences.

If you've attended a wedding, conference, meeting, banquet, or special event at DoubleTree by Hilton Austin this year, there's a good chance Karrah has played a part in making it successful. She has been a driving force behind event ex*****on, banquet operations, and creating memorable experiences for our guests. Never short on inspiring ideas, delivered with heart.

As our department continues to grow, so does the role itself.

In her new position, Karrah will take on expanded responsibilities focused on event administration, client coordination, billing oversight, software management, event documentation, and helping ensure every detail behind the scenes is organized, accurate, and executed with excellence.

Over this past year, Lyna has become a familiar face to countless guests, clients, organizations, and event planners who have trusted us with their meetings, celebrations, weddings, conferences, and special events. 💚💙 GM Note 💙💚

As Employee Appreciation Week comes to a close, I’d like to share something a little more personal.

When I accepted the opportunity to become General Manager of DoubleTree by Hilton Austin, I knew there would be challenges ahead. Like any property undergoing significant change, there was work to be done, goals to achieve, standards to elevate, and a vision to build together.

What I didn’t fully realize was just how much I would come to love the people behind it all.

Over the past couple months, last month in particular even more, I have had the privilege of watching something truly special happen. I’ve watched teams step up for one another. I’ve watched departments rally together during busy weekends, sold-out nights, major events, deep-clean projects, staffing challenges, property improvements, and everything in between. I’ve watched people volunteer to help outside their own roles, cover shifts for teammates, mentor new employees, solve problems before being asked, and show up every single day with determination and heart.

Most importantly, I’ve watched a culture blossom.

Since we mounted it in May, our team has filled an entire wall board with Staff Shoutouts. Not because they were pressured to. Not because anyone was required to. They simply wanted to recognize one another.

As I read through those notes, I noticed something beautiful. The messages weren’t about job titles or positions. They were about kindness. Reliability. Teamwork. Positive attitudes. Helping hands. Going the extra mile. Being there when someone needed support.

That is what makes a great workplace.

Not the building. Not the renovations. Not the furniture. Not the numbers.

The people.

Every improvement we’ve made, every challenge we’ve overcome, every success we’ve celebrated has been possible because of this incredible team.

To our DoubleTree family: thank you.

Thank you for believing in the direction we’re heading. Thank you for embracing change. Thank you for caring about each other. Thank you for caring about our guests. Thank you for showing me every day what hospitality truly looks like.

I am incredibly proud of what we’ve accomplished together so far, and even more excited about where we’re going. And we are going nowhere but UP over time! 🙌🏻

And on a personal note, thank you for making me love coming to work each day.

Our DoubleTree by Hilton Austin family is grieving alongside two of our own, Executive Chef Brad and his son, Collyn, following the heartbreaking loss of Brad's beloved son and Collyn's brother, Eli.

Brad and Collyn have each been part of our hotel family for many years, dedicating countless hours to serving our guests, supporting their coworkers, and helping make DoubleTree Austin feel like home. During this incredibly difficult time, we would like to extend that same care and support back to them and their family.

✨ Yesterday marked Day 4 of Hilton's Employee Appreciation Week! Throughout the day, we spread a little extra joy by rolling our snack cart from department to department, delivering treats, smiles, and heartfelt appreciation to our incredible team members. It was a wonderful opportunity to connect, celebrate, and thank the people who make our hotel such a special place every day. ✨
