Nestled in the “Heart of the Valley,” between Vail and Beaver Creek ski resorts, Avon serves both a residential and guest community and is known for its family-friendly atmosphere. Whether skiing, hiking, paddling the Eagle River or enjoying a leisurely day in town, you’ll find that launching your mountain adventures from Avon is easy and convenient. Since its incorporation in 1978, the Town has grown significantly in population, development and infrastructure. With 6,500 year-round residents, plus another 3,500 part-time residents, Avon offers a small mountain town atmosphere with many amenities. The town serves as a gateway to the Beaver Creek Ski Resort and features world-class hotels, restaurants and shopping as well as multitude of recreational opportunities, special events, parks, open space and trails. The Town of Avon’s use of external social media websites is provided as a public service. The final community meeting to provide input on Wildridge Open Space and Park Improvements is today - October 29 at 5:30 PM. Staff will be onsite in Wildridge to meet with community members at the O'Neal Spur Park Picnic Shelter located at 2799 Old Trail Road, Avon, CO 81620.

Feedback from this meeting will be compiled and included with survey results.

As a reminder, there is no in-person voting at Avon Town Hall this year. A ballot box outside the building (100 Mikaela Way) is available 24-hours per day.

An in-person vote center is available in Edwards at 410 Miller Ranch Rd.

Avon, in partnership with Eagle River Fire Protection District (ERFPD) and Eagle Valley Wildland (EVW), is continuing wildfire mitigation work within the West Avon Preserve.

The work is part of an ongoing effort to reduce hazardous fuels, improve wildfire resiliency, and provide firefighters with improved opportunities to protect homes and infrastructure in Wildridge in the event of a wildfire.

Heads up - this is an active investigation. Please avoid the area!

The Eagle County Sheriff’s Office, in conjunction with the Avon Police Department, is investigating remains found earlier today, October 23, 2026, near Bocco Mountain, north of Wolcott.

Eagle County Sheriff’s deputies have responded to the scene and secured the area. This is a joint investigation between the Eagle County Sheriff’s Office and the Avon Police Department.

The Colorado Bureau of Investigation Evidence Response Team is also on scene. As the investigation continues, please avoid the area and expect to see a large amount of police activity.

There is no known immediate threat to our community.
