💦Avon Recreation Center Waterslide Closure Update💦

Our big waterslide is closed effective immediately while we complete several necessary repairs to ensure it remains safe for guests. The Lazy River will remain open, and all aquatics programs will continue as scheduled. We do not have a reopening date at this time but will share updates as they become available.

Thank you for your patience and understanding as we work to safely return the slide to service. 💙

Avon has further reduced irrigation across Town-managed landscapes in response to ongoing drought conditions and regional water supply concerns.

At the request of the Colorado River District, the Town has adjusted irrigation practices to reduce water use. The Colorado River District recently reported that 2026 ranks among the warmest and driest years on record and that snowpack conditions in the Eagle River Watershed are well below average.

Under the updated schedule, most Town landscapes, including parks and turf areas, will be irrigated once per week to conserve water and promote drought resilience.

⚡Avon’s all-electric Public Works Garage is outperforming expectations ☀️

Year-to-date energy costs are under well below the estimated budget—and the facility is now on track to produce more energy than it uses this summer.

With solar generation ramping up, the building is expected to send excess energy back to the grid for the next several months.

A big win for smart infrastructure, cost savings, and sustainability in Avon.
