Take a ride down Grove Road to see the beautiful sugar maple woods in full color. Better yet, come visit our "Little Store" on our farm for a closer look. Sunday afternoon farm tours from 4-7 p.m. allow you to hike our old growth forest and enjoy the wooded acres itself. Myself and Mister Burns will be vending our foodie items Sunday from 9-1 at the Baileys Harbor, Door County Community Association market. While you're in Egg Harbor pick up a pack of our fresh raw sauerkraut at Main Street Market.

Wally's We**ie Wagon "The Restaurant" - The Restaurant in Jacksonport has featured fall menu items using our fresh Door County Kraut for your dining pleasure. Relish the flavor. I'm waiting to order the "Wurst Plate" featured in past years at "Chriskindlemarkt" in Sister Bay, but they had always run out by the time I got a break. Thanks so much for your hard work this past year in getting a brick and mortar location started.

A special thank you is extended to Pat Thorp and Mike Shinn developers/owners/operators of Pat's Patch Organic Produce over the past decades for giving us a hand up in development of our ag business. Their gifting to Corey and myself of their high tunnel structure insures it will continue its useful life feeding people. It does need some tender care and new parts to replace twisted ones. Plans are to erect it as part of the Door County Kraut Company/Mister Burns Peppertorium Farm life-adventure.
De-construction was an adventure, and reconstruction will be no less exciting. Special thanks are also extended to friends Casey, Chris, Dessi, Eric and Brandon who assisted Corey and I in the disassembly. Dependable friends who show up when the going is difficult are hard to come by. You are all appreciated beyond words.

Kraut and Charlie's Smokehouse fans - My fresh raw sauerkraut in plain and cherry is available at Main Street Market Egg Harbor, and my Southwest Smoked Whitefish dip is available at Charlie's Smokehouse as well as at our "Little Store" here on my Grove Rd. farm. Door County Kraut Company was a start-up in 2003 with my dad teaching us the method, and expansion into smoked whitefish dip began in 2005 to expand our product line with Charlie's Smokehouse being my FDA approved source for the smoked whitefish ever since. Kraut Fans - the fresh raw plain and cherry sauerkrauts are now available at our "Little Store" here on the farm on Grove Rd. Probiotics are alive and well! With e very purchase customers receive a FREE Spaghetti Squash while supplies last. Today I am working upstairs in the commercial kitchen prepping for the Baileys Harbor, Door County Sunday Farmer's Market so If you drive in, give me a chance to get down 3 flites of stairs to the store.

Thanks to all who contributed to our effort on the part of the WI Wisconsin Bakers Association - WBA Foundation to the statewide member "Sweet Relief" effort to assist people in need after the EF3 tornado that swept devastation through a wide swath of Appleton and Menasha about a month ago. Proceeds will be distributed to the E WI Appleton Campus for assistance to those affected.

At our Sept. 6 BHCA Farmer's market we will have our usual bakery items, red plum pies, and pretzels for those who waited patiently over the last 3 weeks due to the fundraiser. A new specialty item is a Raspberry-Elderberry Shortbread Cookie frosted with Rasperry-Elderberry Frosting. These beauties are a cheerful color of pink and the cookie is designed to satisfy raspberry fans.

Come vist DC Kraut and Side Burns in the food court behind the Baileys Harbor Town Hall. The market begins at 9 and ends at 1 p.m. Mister Burns is vending at Marina Fest Saturday and Sunday. I will have open farm tours from 4-8 p.m. Sunday afternoon.

We have about 1000 lbs. of sauerkraut currently fermenting and anticipate having fresh raw kraut in about the next 2 weeks.

This week is the last week of the "Sweet Relief" Wisconsin Bakers Association - WBA Foundation fundraising efforts for Feeding America NE WI Appleton campus to assist with $$ needed for victims of the EF3 tornado earlier this month. The devastation was incredible as I saw it first hand this past week. My targeted items for 100% proceeds from the sale of them are Door County Cherry Bread and Chocolate-Double Chocolate Chip Cookies. I will have those in addition to many of our regular scratch bakery and foodie items. Kosher Garlic Dill Fridge Pickles are back on the menu, and the fresh plain and cherry kraut are fermenting as well as the spicy Fresno and Bolivian Bumpy type. Many thanks are extended to the overwhelming support for the "Sweet Relief" fundrasing efforts and our wonderful customers. Annie & Corey here on the farm.

A big thank you is extended to Sandy and Dessi for donating their time for the day to help me with last week's "Wisconsin Bakers Association - WBA Sweet Relief" statewide fundraising effort for the EF3 tornado victims in Appleton and Menasha WI. Customer turnout to support this effort was exceptional. We sold out of the 100% of proceeds from the sales items last week. This week our new featured items are Peanut Butter Cookies w/wo chocolate chips, and Protein Enriched Cinnamon-Rhubarb bread as our fundraiser. My last Sunday of our fundraising effort is August 30 at our Baileys Harbor, Door County farmers market from 9-1. We are located in the parking lot by the food trucks at the Baileys Harbor Town Hall. 100% of all proceeds will pass through the Wisconsin Bakers Association - WBA Foundation to the Appleton Campus of Feeding America to assist those in need of relief assistance. The thought of loosing your home and having nowhere to provide daily living needs even for a short while is stressful, much less having to start over from scratch to rebuild. We have relatives that were affected. Again, thank you all for your outpouring of support in our efforts here at Door County Kraut Co. to provide just a small portion of the overall needs.
