Hey Millenials, it’s time to book your next National Park trip, and we think Acadia should be at the top of the list! We usually don’t play old school club music at breakfast, but happy to take requests 😉

Another update on our juvenile eagle. She is doing amazing! She is learning all the things from the Acadia Wildlife in-house eagle mentor (he's giving her a stern talking to in this photo!), and she will be released back into the wild sometime in the next two weeks. We are just beyond blessed to have been able to help this majestic creature, and be a part of her journey.
To learn more about all things wildlife and how you can help all these wonderful creatures from afar, check out https://acadiawildlife.org. 🦅

Our female fledgling Bald Eagle is doing very well. She is outside with our ambassador/foster male adult who seems to be giving some stern advice at the moment. She is flying and eating well and receiving social interaction. Soon she will be ready for release where there is lots of food and other fledglings to learn with. She has 3-4 years ahead of her before completely changing color and competing for a mate and a territory . Young birds of many species are a different color than the adults making it clear who is a baby and who is competition.

Our lovely flock of hens provide us with absolutely delicious eggs for our breakfast each morning. They also help us reduce waste by eating all our kitchen scraps, and even helping manage the ticks on the property.
It's just a bonus that they are cute!

Update on our young eagle friend!

Juvenile Eaglet probably left her nest in an awkward way and ended up pulling herself out of the ocean onto a rock. She was sopping wet, shivering, with her head hanging low. She seems better today, no fractures, and little sign of a head injury, avian influenza, or lead poisoning. Fingers crossed that her health continues to improve
