"California Inn in Barstow was a delight and a highlight of our road trip from Albuquerque to Los Angeles. Our dog was welcomed there, our room had a sliding glass door facing the lovely, quiet outdoor pool area. Despite fumbling our phone reservation and the only remaining $75 pet-friendly room being booked prior to our arrival, the kind woman working the desk honored that price for the remaining room. The room was neat and tidy with a working fridge and tv. The grounds of the California Inn are obviously painstakingly maintained and the efforts show in the beautiful landscaping. Many flowers were blooming while we were there. We were also impressed by the massive saguaro - if you visit soon, you may get to see it in bloom! Also the coffee was strong.
