Tell me you’re staying in the White Mountains without telling me you’re staying in the White Mountains. 🎿😂
But these chairs actually have a story that started long before we ever found the chalet. ❤️
During the COVID days, a local Burlington family had built these four Adirondack chairs out of old skis. A few years later, they had outgrown them and posted them on our local Buy Nothing page.
Obviously I needed them. 😂
My dad let me borrow his truck — and by “let me borrow his truck,” I mean my very old-school Italian dad drove me over there himself because apparently I could not be trusted with the truck. 😂🤌
We loaded up all four chairs AND a grill they were giving away (seriously, score of the year 🙌) and brought everything home.
And then…the chairs sat in my side yard. 😂
For MONTHS.
At the time, we were still waiting for our two little White Mountains condos to sell and trying to figure out what was next for us. We hadn’t found the chalet yet.
But I just knew there was a special place out there for these four chairs. 🥹
And eventually, we found it. ❤️🤎
Now those same chairs sit around the fire at The Crimson Cocoa Chalet — surrounded by trees, string lights + the White Mountains — and they’ve become one of my absolute favorite parts of the property. 🎿🔥
This spring we added two more chairs…and we’ll probably add another two next spring.
NEXT spring. Because your girl has assembled enough furniture for one year and I need to space these projects out for my sanity. 😂🫠
So there you have it: the story behind our ski chairs. 🫶
And if anyone out there makes these and wants to sell me a couple more… I will happily pay whatever it takes to never assemble anything myself. 😂
♻️ We love a good homemade piece.
♻️ We love giving old things a new life.
❤️ And we especially love filling the chalet with things that have a story.
Sometimes the things that make a place special aren’t the things you planned for it at all. 🥹🎿🔥
