From the TwinCities.Com Pioneer Press archives: when Pier B Resort Hotel first opened in 2016, it marked a turning point in Duluth’s tourism boom and a bold reimagining of the western harbor front—once fenced off, industrial, and largely inaccessible to the public.

Today, Pier B is a year-round gathering place where guests watch freighters pass under the Aerial Lift Bridge, enjoy waterfront dining and fire pits, arrive by boat, and experience Lake Superior from right at the shoreline.

What was once purely part of Duluth’s working waterfront has become a place where history, hospitality, and the harbor come together—continuing to reflect the city’s evolution as a premier Great Lakes destination.

We’re excited to congratulate Jamie Tatge on completing his acquisition of the firm as continues his leadership post as President & CEO Leisure Hotels & Resorts.

Jamie has been an integral part of the Leisure team for nearly two decades, helping shape our growth while building strong relationships with our owners, partners, and employees. His deep industry experience, ability to figure “it” out and his energy for hospitality make him the right person to continue our growth and guide our next chapter.
