Leisure Hotels & Resorts is an all-encompassing hospitality management company based in the Kansas City area with operations across the United States. Leisure Hotels & Resorts specializes in hotel and resort management, homeowners associations, distressed assets, food & beverage, recreation management, and EB-5 management services. There is very little within the global hospitality industry that we haven’t seen, managed, or helped succeed. Our vast portfolio is filled with unique properties from small 8-room lofts to large ski resorts with a capacity of over 3000. We collaborate with teams, owners, investors, and lenders with the same consistent goals of being profitable, working together, and listening to guest's feedback. With an entrepreneurial spirit, Leisure Hotels and Resorts was founded in 1985. We worked with full-service hotels including Hyatt and Holiday Inn in secondary and tertiary markets throughout the United States. Over the past 34 years, we have evolved to become a leader in independent hotels and resorts. We like to say, “We are serial entrepreneurs who work for serial entrepreneurs.”

Inside Pier B: A Culture Rooted in History and Community

Pier B is more than a place to stay – it’s a place shaped by its history, its setting, and the people who bring it to life.

In this video, Jesse, Pier B's General Manager, shares what makes Pier B special: the freedom to celebrate the site’s harbor heritage, create a truly individual guest experience, and connect visitors with everything that makes Duluth and the Lake Superior shoreline unique.

From paddle boarding and biking along the lake walk to exploring Canal Park and Bayfront, Pier B invites guests to experience the area from every angle. And behind it all is a team of people who genuinely love this city — many of whom have been part of the Pier B family for years.

Watch Jesse’s full perspective on the culture, character, and community that make Pier B one of a kind.

Some of the Leisure crew made a stop in Elko, Nevada — for a little budget + strategy time with the Shutters Hotel team.

And let’s just say… this crew has a LOT to celebrate. 🙌

They worked hard all year, crushed their goals, and kept doing what they do best: taking care of guests and creating the kind of experience people remember.

Huge shoutout to Callie and the entire Shutters team. Thank you for bringing the grit, the hustle, the heart, and the hospitality all year long. We appreciate you more than you know.

The best team. Incredible owners. A great guest experience. Right in the heart of Nevada.

That’s something worth celebrating.

Cheers to a great team, a heck of a year, and plenty more good things ahead!

Fall on the North Shore doesn’t happen by accident. 🍂

Kate, Kyra and Nikki are hard at work getting Cove Point Lodge ready for the season—making sure every detail is in place for our guests to experience the very best of fall on Lake Superior.

Cooler days. Color on the trees. Lake Superior doing its thing. And a crew behind the scenes making it all happen.

Great crew. Thanks for all you do!

We’re pretty pumped about this one.

Please join us in congratulating Kathleen Baumann on her promotion to Chief People Officer for Leisure Hotels & Resorts!

Kathleen is a true people person, a culture champion, and the kind of leader who isn’t afraid to roll up her sleeves and get in the middle of the work. She gets what makes Leisure different—and she gets our culture.

Her focus will be on continuing to build our culture, supporting our teams, creating opportunities, and helping our people grow. And honestly? We can’t think of anyone better for the job.

Kathleen believes in working hard, playing harder, and having a whole lot of fun along the way. So the next time you see her, you know the rules: fist bumps and high fives are required.

Congrats, Kathleen. Buckle up. We’re truly pumped about what’s ahead!
