You don’t want to see water rushing in where it’s supposed to be going out. 🫪 As we pumped the tank down, we noticed water rushing back into the tank from the leach lines for a good 15 minutes. This is a strong indicator that this 40-year-old system has a significant drainage problem—possibly even a failed drain field.

This is exactly why regular septic maintenance is so important. Catching issues early can often prevent costly repairs, extend the life of your system, and give you time to plan before a small problem turns into a major one. If it has been several years since your last septic service, don’t wait until your system starts backing up or failing.
