Our staff training has been going great so far! Our summer staffers are learning all about working at camp, from ropes training to lifeguarding to cheer prep.

Please continue praying that we’d glorify God in all we do and prepare for our campers well!

It’s Summer Staff Saturday—here are the rest of our summer kitchen staffers!

Katie Fears is also going into her junior year of high school this fall. She is looking forward to seeing all the amazing ways God will move this summer. She’s also excited for lake day! Prayer request: “That I would grow closer in my relationship with the Lord this summer and strengthen my faith.”

Alysha Ulrich is also going into her junior year of high school this fall. She is excited to spend all summer with friends and encouraging Christians! She also loves all the camp activities and meeting campers. Prayer request: “Pray that God works through Camp Calvary to impact everyone there, and for my mom, who is having a baby in August.”

Abbie Gorgo works as a personal care assistant for children with special needs. She is looking forward to working alongside the staff and continuing to grow in her relationship with Christ. Prayer request: “That the Lord’s love would shine through me in all I do, and that I can be an encouragement to those around me.”

Grace Vaughn just finished her freshman year at Lancaster Bible College, majoring in music and worship arts. She is excited to have the opportunity to serve the Lord this summer at camp. She is also looking forward to seeing how God is going to work in her own life and the lives of campers and staffers. Prayer request: “That the Lord will be glorified in everything that we do this summer.”

It’s Summer Staff Saturday—meet a few of our kitchen staff! We are so thankful for each of them and their willingness to serve in the kitchen this summer!

Jacey Hoffert has been married to her husband Will for almost 17 years, and they have four beautiful children and one grandson! She is a school bus driver, and loves serving at church and spending time with family and friends. She is excited to work alongside Kris in the kitchen and meet the staff, volunteers and campers. Prayer request: “Pray for strength, encouragement and safety for all. Pray that the work we do at camp would point people to Jesus, transform hearts and be pleasing to our Heavenly Father.”

Briella Connor is no stranger to Camp Calvary! She just graduated high school, and is planning to take a gap year before attending culinary school the next fall. She is looking forward to getting to know the new kitchen staff, and trying out some fun desserts! Prayer request: “That I will grow stronger in my relationship with Jesus and that many hearts will be changed.”

Annika Dolder is going into her junior year of high school this fall and is studying for her GED. She is looking forward to being a part of a Christ-centered community and building relationships with staff and campers. Prayer request: “That I would grow closer to Christ this summer and be intentional about reflecting Him in my actions and relationships.”

It’s our last Summer Staff Saturday before they all arrive next week!

Matteo Maccarrone just graduated high school and is planning to attend East Stroudsburg University in the fall. He leads Bible studies at his house Sunday nights, and led an FCA group at his school. He is looking forward to seeing Jesus change lives this summer, being a counselor and working with his brother, Pietro! Prayer request: “That my main focus would be God always, and that no matter how bad my day or week is going I would keep my eyes fixed on Jesus.”

Abby Ekstrom is a freshman Linguistics major at Cedarville University. She is looking forward to making fun memories with new friends! Prayer request: “That God will use my time at camp to bring kids closer to Him.”

Rob Clarke is a freshman at Cedarville University, majoring in Finance. He is looking forward to an exciting summer connecting with the camp community and serving the Lord. Prayer request: “That the Lord would work in the hearts of campers and that I would be able to grow over this summer.”

Our first week of summer camp is just over a month away! As our staff prepare, would you join with us in praying over our summer of ministry?

🔵 Pray for our campers who are coming, that the Lord would prepare their hearts to hear and accept the Gospel!

🔵 Pray for our weekly speakers, that they would boldly preach God’s Word each service.

🔵 Pray for our full-time, summer and kitchen staff, that God would give them strength, endurance, patience, humility and joy as they serve.

🔵 Pray for all of our volunteers, that the Lord would prepare their hearts for camp ministry.

🔵 Pray for safety for all during all our activities during the summer.

🔵 Pray for our program, that everything would run smoothly, and ultimately point our campers to Christ.

“Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him.” ~ 1 John 5:14-15

It’s time for another Summer Staff Saturday!

Gideon Madden is graduated high school, working on some college classes and working as an architectural craftsman with his dad. He is excited to try out the new sport court and make lifelong friends! Prayer request: “That we glorify God in all we do and give all the credit to Him only.”

Elaina Jordan is finishing her senior year at Lancaster Bible College with a bachelor’s in Biblical Studies, and hopes to pursue entrepreneurship. She is excited to experience this ministry and see how the Lord grows the campers and her fellow counselors. Prayer request: “For peace and endurance as I finish up my college degree and transfer into the workforce and learn how to adult.”

Cam Martz is a freshman at Penn State Mont Alto, studying Physical Therapy Assisting. He is excited to see God move through camp like He does every year. He hopes to see the hearts of campers change in incredible ways! Prayer request: “That I maintain strength and energy and am able to keep my eyes set on the mission God has for me this summer.”

Liza Aloisi is going into her sophomore year this fall as a Nursing major at Bob Jones University. She is excited to meet new people and grow more like Christ this summer. Prayer request: “That I honor God in all that I do, even in the little things.”
