Our Gigi - Geri Stennes 85, passed away peacefully after a courageous struggle with Alzheimer’s disease.

Geri grew up in Coleraine, Minnesota, and graduated from Bemidji State University in 1962. It was there she met her husband, Paul M. Stennes, with whom she shared 62 years of marriage.

Geri will be remembered for her intelligence, strong values, determination, and quick sense of humor. She was a steady and guiding presence in both her family and their endeavors. In 1972, Geri played an instrumental role in the purchase and operation of Moose Lake Resort in Blackduck—a place that became the heart of countless family memories and her own enduring joy. Moose Lake was Geri’s happy place, and her chair by the cabin window—where she quietly took in the changing seasons and passing wildlife—was her favorite spot in the world.
