Update on painting the house. We have scraped everything that we can reach. We are still trying to figure out how to get to some of the high parts. Now, we are sanding every single board, nailing down loose boards, repairing, boards, and caulking. I have begun to put on the bonding primer and have 4 walls done (around the back side). We still need to get windows taped, prime, and paint two coats. If you have any suggestions, we will take them. We are figuring this out as we go. It is all a little overwhelming!

Excitement in Bloomington! Saturday was Indiana University's first home game, and Fox's Big Noon Kickoff came to town. If you are coming to B-town for a football game renting the entire Beaumont House (sleeps 10) will be a much better deal than the hotel prices. Check our availability on Airbnb.

Anyway, this Saturday, we helped to give international students a tailgating experience. This group roaming the parking lot and playing the fight song were a highlight for me.

House scraping. This is a picture of the current state of the house--peeling. We have not done any scraping yet. I took a week off work with the goal that we can scrape and prep the house this week so that Kyle can begin painting it next week.

Prep for painting. We are beginning to do the prep work for painting the house. Yesterday, Kyle replaced these boards. The previous ones were rotten and pieced together with scrap wood. This is cedar, which should last longer, and is one continuous piece of wood. In addition, these spaces between the windows were hollow inside. He placed some insulation in there to help with climate control.

A God story. Several months ago, I noticed that there was not much water coming out of the faucets of the chapel. I searched in the yard to see if there was a puddle from a busted pipe, searched the building for a water pressure regulator, etc. I tried everything I could think of and was afraid that when our pipes froze last winter that a pipe had burst under the slab of the building. That repair would entail digging through the floor of the chapel to the pipe and tens of thousands of dollars. I had been stressed about this for some time. I prayed and prayed. One day, I went out to the chapel and walked circles around the building praying about the water pressure. Finally, we made an appointment with a plumber for this week. However, last weekend one of the guests at the wedding approached us about the water in the sinks. He was a master plumber. It turned out that the minerals in our well water had clogged the aerators. It was a $5.00 fix! We are so, so thankful for that answer to prayer! Literally rejoicing.

Wedding. We felt so much joy this weekend watching our property being used to make a very special memory for so many people. The weather was perfect. The band was amazing ( ). The fanciest potluck food ever. Yard games being played from one end of the property to the other. Just a wonderful celebration.
