More Blue Ridge Parkway Open
The Blue Ridge Parkway motor road is open from milepost 64 in Virginia to milepost 344, on the other side of Little Switzerland. The route is open to the Historic Orchard at Altapass, but Mount Mitchell must still be accessed from the south.
There are currently no full closures in the Blowing Rock area, or for many miles north or south of town. Access is open as usual to points of interest like Grandfather Mountain, Rough Ridge, Price Lake, and the Cone Estate.
Please note that some sporadic single-lane closures are still ongoing, as noted on the Blue Ridge Parkway website. See

Witches and Warlock October 16, 2026

Blue Ridge Parkway Open
The Blue Ridge Parkway is open near Blowing Rock! There are currently no full closures in the Blowing Rock area and local detour signs have been removed. Access is open as usual to points of interest like Grandfather Mountain, Rough Ridge, Price Lake, and the Cone Estate.
The roadway is open from Highway 421 in Deep Gap, NC to Highway 221 at the Linville Falls community (from Milepost 276.5 to Milepost 317.5). Please note that some sporadic single-lane closures are still ongoing, as noted on the Blue Ridge Parkway website.

Full Moon Paddle at Price Lake
Ever wanted to paddle Price Lake by moonlight? Now is your chance! Price Lake Boat Rentals is now offering full moon paddles each month. Registration is required ahead of time. Moonrise will be at 6:43 PM. This is the night BEFORE the full moon, but the moon should still be mostly full and bright!
