Meet The Gualtieri Family : A Longtime Linekin Bay Resort Legacy ⚓️

Capt. Vito and Jeanne Gualtieri first came to Linekin Bay Resort on their honeymoon in 1968. Now, they return every year with their children and grandchildren - a group of 18. Vito, a retired tugboat captain, has taught them all the art of sailing. They love rigging the boat and setting sail on Linekin Bay. The family competes in and sometimes win the annual regatta! They also enjoy performing in the resort’s talent show. LBR has become a legacy that everyone looks forward to each summer. ✨

Meet the Sherrill Family : A Longtime Linekin Bay Resort Legacy ⚓️

In 2008, Rachael (Nana) Sherrill, her five children, eleven grandchildren gathered for a long weekend at Linekin Bay Resort to celebrate her 75th birthday. They’ve returned every summer since! The July family reunion is a treasured few days together; the Sherrill grandchildren grew up on shuffleboard, Apples to Apples, puzzles, and movie nights in West Lodge; Capture the Flag through the upper trails, and jumping off the Main Dock railing at high tide.

The magic of Linekin Bay stands the test of time, becoming a multi-generational core memory. From cousin kayak trips around Cabbage Island and rides on the Lyman (sea), to tennis matches up the hill (take “tennis” loosely) and meals together in the Dining Hall (land), the Sherrill family continues to travel from near and far to spend a few days with Nana in Boothbay Harbor.

In recent years, LBR has even served as a backdrop for a baby shower and multiple engagement celebrations. Chocolate milk orders have transitioned to happy hours on Branch Deck. Just as the Linekin property has evolved, seventeen summers has brought many new phases of life for the Sherrill family, but LBR is the anchor that continues to bring them together year after year.
