First there was PropTech. Then there was RentTech.
We believe the next evolution is already here: Rent(er)Tech.
What's the difference?
For the past few decades, our industry has proliferated by learning how to get more juice out of the multifamily lemon. And the PropTech era propelled us to our max potential — from the foundational PMSs all the way down to the most niche corners (P**p DNA, anyone?).
An entire industry flourished at the intersection of tech innovation and capitalism.
That push evolved into RentTech — a term coined by founder/investor John Helm to highlight the tech wave of companies myopically focused on improving the very expensive and inefficient L2L funnel.
But the frontier I find most interesting... is the actual Renter. This is the next place change will come.
Companies like Bilt are at the forefront of this change — turning their gaze away from the operator, away from the owner, away from everything we've focused decades on... and looking, for the first time, directly at the consumer.
THIS is the frontier Pineapple is living in.
This budget season, challenge your thinking. Instead of focusing on the Owner-PMC dynamic, ask...how will my Future Renter feel about this experience?
We think you'll be amazed at how the pieces fall into place when the person standing outside your door becomes the radical focus. When it's clear to that Future Resident that your company cares, that you're willing to 'pick your eyes up' and meet that customer on their terms, to meet THEIR needs.
It's not rocket science, it's everything you know to be right about leasing apartments, updated for the modern era. We help you provide great service, which is all we have ever tried to do as an industry.
This is Rent(er)Tech.
That is our philosophy, what is yours?
