We’ve heard a few rumors floating around town lately, so we thought this would be a good time to clear a few things up and give everyone a little update directly from us.
Recently, it was mentioned that renovations on the hotel would be starting soon. While we wish that were the case, it will still be a bit before we get started on renovations. With the cost of materials, labor, and resources today, restoring a building like this is no small undertaking. When we do start, we want to do it right. Our goal is to restore it to its full glory.
Right Choice Investments purchased the hotel in 2024 and is still the current owners. After our family saw the potential in the building and fell in love with the idea of someday bringing such an important piece of Bourbon’s history back to life. We never took into consideration any ordinances that would hinder the future plans for the building. We have also not fought against any municipality in regard to regulations that could hinder our plans.
We also want to give a BIG thank you to those in the community who continue to keep an eye on the hotel for us. ❤️ Being an empty historic building, it unfortunately tends to attract some unwanted attention. We’ve dealt with break-ins, trespassing, graffiti, and other issues over the last couple of years. So when someone calls, messages, or lets us know they’ve seen something that doesn’t look right, we truly appreciate it. Please continue to keep an eye out and let us know when something needs our attention. It really does help!
We know people are curious about the hotel—and we’re actually glad you are. It means people still care about this old building and want to see something good happen with it.
And when that day finally comes, this page will be the first place we announce it.
When renovations eventually begin, we plan to document the whole journey and share it right here—the good, the bad, the surprises, the history we uncover, and hopefully one pretty incredible transformation.
