Where history and heritage kindle the love stories of today.....

✨ Another Piece of Ozarks History, Now a Place for Forever ✨

This stone fireplace once stood at the home of Galba Edward Branson—brother of Reuben Branson, for whom the city of Branson was named. Galba lived a turbulent life as one of the original 13 Bald Knobbers, later elected Sheriff of Taney County. His story ended in a shootout at a Fourth of July picnic in Kirbyville, MO in 1889, and he now rests in the Branson Family Cemetery off T Highway.

Today, his fireplace has been carefully moved and rebuilt here at Weddings at the Homestead, just up the road from where it once stood. Once a gathering place in Galba’s home, it now stands as a backdrop for love, heritage, and new beginnings. 💍🤍

✨New Beginnings with a Piece of History ✨

We’re excited to share the newest addition to Homestead Farm Retreat & RV — these stone pillars that now welcome guests as they arrive.

They were built using cut stones from the original Branson School, built in 1922. Bringing these stones back to life at our entrance is a beautiful way to honor the past while opening the gates to new memories here at the Homestead. 💛

The Michels are known for preserving history in the projects they bring to their properties, and these pillars stand as a perfect example — blending heritage with hospitality.

A timeless welcome, where hearts & history come together!
