Maria Neva, who just completed her 10th-grade year at Pequot Lakes High School, is headed back to the Minnesota State High School Golf Tournament for her 2nd State appearance! 🏆

Maria has continued to impress on the course with her dedication, talent, and competitive spirit, and we’re excited to see her represent Pequot Lakes on the State stage once again.

Golf runs in the family—Maria’s dad, Mark Neva, is our Head PGA Golf Professional at Deacon’s Lodge, where Maria is also part of our team. She works alongside her sister Annie, another member of our Deacon’s Lodge staff and a standout golfer herself.

We’re proud to have such a talented group representing the game both on and off the course. Congratulations, Maria, and good luck at State! ⛳️

Lyric Aulie (Sophomore) is headed to State for her 4th trip after a dominant performance at Sections—winning outright and making school history as the first ever sectional champion!

Isaiah Aulie (Senior) is also heading back for his 4th trip to State, coming off a top 10 finish last year and looking to finish his high school career strong.

Both Lyric and Isaiah are part of our team at Whitebirch Golf Course here at Breezy Point Resort, and we couldn’t be prouder to have such talented student-athletes on staff. ⛳️

🎣 Pelican Lake Fishing Report – Breezy Point, MN 🎣

Fishing on Pelican Lake is really starting to heat up as water temperatures continue to rise! The lake is currently experiencing strong bug hatches, making leeches and night crawlers some of the best live bait options for putting walleyes in the boat.

Most of the fish we’ve been finding are holding in 9–16 feet of water, especially around transition areas and structure that provide easy access to feeding flats.

The evening bite has been especially productive, and anglers casting shallow-running crankbaits across the flats after dark have been seeing excellent success. As always, keying in on active fish and staying mobile can make all the difference.

With warmer weather in the forecast, expect the bite to continue improving. It’s a great time to get out on the water and enjoy some of the best fishing of the season!
