A 4X tippet and a striper? Yep! This fish took a worm fished below an indicator, and Al and his guide, John Stunkard, were both shocked to see backing peeling off the reel! But the biggest surprise came when they finally saw what was on the other end: a striper with the fly firmly hooked in its lip!

What an unbelievable catch, guys! You just never know what’s going to eat your fly!

Mike and Collean’s annual fall trip with guide John Stunkard was fantastic!

Both anglers landed some beautiful brown trout, and plenty of them! The fishing on the South Holston has been consistently strong this month, even considering there’s been more fishing pressure on the river than we’ve ever seen before.

Fall is a special time to be on the South Holston, with gorgeous scenery, and beautiful brown trout! See you soon!

Take a look at the day John and Ben spent on the water with guide Aden Blackburn!

The Watauga River has been fishing well over the past couple of weeks, and drift boat traffic has been noticeably lighter recently. With great fishing and less pressure on the river, now is a fantastic time to get out there and enjoy a day on the water!

Check out this beautiful brown trout he landed with guide John Stunkard yesterday! Rumor has it, it only took three drifts to seal the deal with this awesome fish. Way to go, guys!

Joe is an experienced angler who was hoping to land a big brown trout, but he wasn’t expecting one quite this size!

This beautiful 27” brown trout put up an incredible fight, and with some great tips from guide John Stunkard, they were able to net it. What a fish!

The trout are loving these temperatures in the 70s, and the fishing has been great. Just be sure to bring a jacket in the morning, there’s definitely a little chill in the air.

The 10-day forecast is looking great, see you soon!
