🚫 Wildlife Is NOT Adoptable — Here’s Why
At Hochatown Rescue Center & Petting Zoo, we want to help educate our community and visitors on something very important:
💥Native wildlife is NOT adoptable.💥
In the state of Oklahoma, it is illegal to possess, keep, or raise native wildlife without the proper permits and licensing.
That means wildlife cannot be kept as pets, adopted out, or taken home.
🔸️It is also illegal to transport native wildlife across state lines, and doing so can result in serious penalties and harm to the animal.
🔸️Even when animals are found injured or orphaned, the law is clear:
➡️ They must be transferred to a licensed wildlife rehabilitator
➡️ And once they recover, they are required to be released back into the wild where they belong.

Here at Hochatown Rescue Center & Petting Zoo, we do NOT adopt out wildlife.
Our mission is simple and unwavering:
Rehabilitate. Release. Return them home.
Every wild animal that comes through our care is given the opportunity to heal, grow, and ultimately go back to its natural habitat right here in Oklahoma.
Because wildlife doesn’t belong in homes.
They belong in the wild. 🌿

If you find injured or baby wildlife, do not keep it.
Contact a licensed wildlife rehabilitator as soon as possible.
