Texas Wounded Warrior Foundation. Have you heard of them? They do an incredible job for our Wounded Warriors and their families. Two weeks ago they sponsored a retreat here at Thunderbird for the weekend, with support from Crosswater Outfitters and Rick Hughes Ministries. The Warriors and their came in Friday afternoon from BAMC, settled into their cottages, and then came together at the Event Center for some of Donna's fine cooking. Afterwards, Rick Hughes presented the Gospel of Jesus Christ in a session on our spiritual walk. Saturday morning 15 boats captained and crewed by the men of Crosswater Outfitters took on all comers for some jug-fishing. One of the catfish weighed 52 lbs., and she was sure pretty. After pictures with her she was released to continue her life in the lake. The other catfish were released into the deep fryers by Crosswater, and everyone enjoyed a delicious fish fry with all the trimmings. Rick Hughes led another session that night, and again Sunday morning. Donna fed breakfast and lunch Saturday and breakfast Sunday. The Warriors and their families had many great comments about the weekend. We hope to see them again this Fall. Look up Texas Wounded Warrior Foundation on line and make a donation if you can. Their overhead is very low and their heart is all in for our Warriors and their families - they have all sacrificed for our Freedom. Also, Crosswater Outfitters is an incredible group of men and women who love sharing the Gospel with soldiers and their families before, during and after jugfishing. It is an honor to be associated with these fine groups.
