Ice Report: Lake Mitchell & Cadillac
Even with all this snow, this cold weather is making the ice build up. Snow seems to be at a minimum of 6" with more along the shorelines and many drifts of 8-10+" so travel with ATV's may be difficult. Plenty fine if you're on a snowmobile or track sled. Everybody have a great weekend and stay safe!

Ice Report: Lakes Mitchell & Cadillac
The rain has burned off almost all of the snow. Some places will have some shoreline erosion but nothing a big step can't overcome. It will probably be slushy tomorrow with the fresh snow. Everyone be safe and have a great weekend.

Ice Report: Lakes Mitchell & Cadillac 12/23/2025
For the most part things are looking good. Some honeycombing from thaws and refreezes. Biggest area of concern is the preasure crack at small cove where the lake ice is diving under the ice in the cove. Everybody stay safe and have a Merry Christmas!

Ice Report: Lake Mitchell & Cadillac 12/11/2025
We've been making some gains even with all this snow. Fishermen are starting to explore both lakes. There is anywhere from 3-7" of SNOW on top of the lakes making it very slushy on top. It can also be hiding thinner spots so make sure you're using a spud, as most of the lakes haven't been traveled yet. Everybody be safe, make good decisions.

Ice Report: Lake Mitchell & Cadillac 12/3/2025
Lake Mitchell is entirely covered with about 1 1/2" of ice. Pretty soft feeling with a light snow coverering, Spud just shoots right through without a sound. The West side of Lake Cadillac is mostly covered with a few pockets filled with diver ducks and mergansers. The whole East half of the lake is open starting at Cheryl's Landing. We're going to have some colder temps coming up, but still may be sabotaged snow. Stay safe, more reports soon.

Tis the season. In between your deer hunts you might want to shake the dust off your ice equipment, kick the mice out of your ice tent and check your auger blades. Hopefully ice season is just around the corner!
