Pine Creek Retreat

Hidden away in the back, this gem of a room is found between the main floor and the basement. The house can be filled with people and chaos, but this little room always feels like a good hideout to escape it for a few moments.
We have big dreams for this room…
Imagine the back wall filled with old classic books, some cozy, comfy leather sofas or chairs, a couple reading lamps, and a fire blazing in the fireplace.
We can’t wait to bring this room to life!

Fun fact:
There are 3 staircases in the main part of the house.
One is the grand staircase you see when you first step inside. This one only connects the first and second floor.

The second staircase is a crazy spiral staircase featured in the above photos. It connects all 3 floors, and the garage.
It is easily accessible if you know where to find it, although if it’s your first time here you might have trouble locating it. It is so easy to get lost and turned around thanks to the crazy and unique design of the house.

The third one however tops them all!
This staircase is entirely hidden away within the tower walls, only accessible through secret entry ways, hidden in areas that are completely hidden to the untrained eye.
The 3 main parts of entry into this staircase are within the cupboards in the office, a closet in one of the bathrooms, and a Dutch pantry.
Crazy, right?

Step inside the front door with me!

When we first heard about this unique property, we were thinking it would have a cold imposing feel to it. It all sounded so cold and unfeeling, but upon us first seeing it, even in the state it had been in, we immediately fell in love. There was a welcoming warmth inside the house beckoning us to give it some love and bring it back to life once more.

We hope you as well experience this warm welcome when you arrive, and as you unplug, you to will see the beauty of slowing down and reconnecting.

The Dining Room.
Both regal and charming, this stately room is meant for delicious foods, laughter, conversations, and most of all people who care deeply for each other.

All the pieces in this room as well as the chandelier and wall paper are all original, and will remain so.

We are trying our best to preserve as many areas as we possibly can. It’s all a work in progress, and I’m guessing 5 years from now there will still be projects waiting. After standing empty for a decade, there is so much to be done to bring this beauty back to life. I like to think this room is smiling to once more be able to witness conversations and laughter, and after so many years of silence to once more feel alive.☺️
